Welcome to our little corner of the internet, the page with all the details for our wedding. We’re excited you’re excited!
Who: Sydney and Barry
What: Are getting married!
Where: SkyVenture Colorado – 9230 Park Meadows Drive • Lone Tree, Colorado 80124
When: October 11, 2012, 2:00 pm
We met at the drop zone – Barry was Sydney’s first jump course instructor. He insists she had googley eyes during the whole course, she denies it. But, Sydney drove back to her Chicago apartment that Friday night, knowing that something had changed. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but something changed. Sydney went through the A-license program, and on her graduation jump, they shared their first kiss. In freefall. At 120+ mph. Wicked!
After moving from Chicago to Austin, back to Chicago, and now out to Skydive Elsinore, Sydney and Barry are finally settling in. And, during a quick vacation in Vegas, Barry proposed. In front of the fountains at the Bellagio hotel, Barry asked Sydney if she wanted to get hitched. The story is hilarious, and best shared over beers, so let’s do that, shall we?
.the big day.
Sydney and Barry will be getting married at SkyVenture Colorado. No, neither one of them is from Colorado. But, for the past two years, they would go to Colorado for a tunnel camp, then enjoy all the beers they could handle at the Great American Beer Festival. This year, we’re throwing a wedding in the mix. In 2010, Barry and Sydney went to Colorado, and on the day Sydney was supposed to do her first tunnel session (BEER!), Barry woke up with horribly excruciating neck pain. The story of that trip can be found here. All the more reason for the wedding to take place at SVCO.
At 2:00 pm on 10.11.12, Sydney and Barry will join close friend, Douglas Spotted Eagle, on the net in the tunnel. Without the wind, they’ll go through the ceremony, which will probably be hilarious and tear-jerking, and once they say “I do” – the awesome guys at SkyVenture Colorado will fire up the wind and Sydney and Barry will share their first “dance” in the tube. Awesome? Duh.
Instead of a fancy white dress, Sydney will be sporting a custom-made jumpsuit, hand-crafted by Julio at LiquidSky. The best part of this wedding is that the lovely couple will be wearing something they are completely comfortable in: skydiving jumpsuits. No fancy dresses, no tuxedos. In fact, they encourage you to book some tunnel time and join them, in your jumpsuits, on their special day.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all. However, should you wish to help us celebrate with a gift, we have created gift registries for your convenience.
We are registered at SkyVenture Colorado, Skydive Elsinore, and Outer Limits Tattoo Shop. In order to purchase tunnel time for the registry, please visit skyventurecolorado.com and enter discount code “Sydney” on the right side of the screen.
If you’d like to send us gifts a la Skydive Elsinore, give the office a call at 951-245-9939 and they’ll happily assist you.
We’re also registered at Outer Limits Tattoo in Long Beach, California. You can give them a jingle and say that you’d like to purchase a gift card for the Sydney Owen/Barry Williams wedding and they’ll hook you right up.
We have a block of rooms at the Four Seasons Denver – $225 for Thursday night. If you’re interested in staying at the Four Seasons, call 303-389-3300 and refer to “Owen Williams Wedding Block” when booking. These rates are valid for booking until September 10, 2012.

WRITING IN THIRD PERSON IS SO HARD.
THAT’S WHY IT BOUNCES AROUND FROM ‘WE’ TO ‘SYDNEY AND BARRY’ – ugh.
Here’s the deal. We’re going to the tunnel and we’re gonna get married. Afterwards, we may or may not go to the Great American Beer Festival. That part is still unknown because the tickets sold out in 45 minutes this year and virtually nobody from our group was able to get their hands on a ticket. We want to see you. If you want to join us, we’d love to have you there. We aren’t sending out invitations, as this event is open to anyone who loves us, unless we’ve specifically told you that you aren’t welcome. Other than that, if you’re here, you’re probably a good friend or family member of ours, and we’d love to have you join us on our special day.
If you can’t view the RSVP form, visit it here.
