I LOVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. It's the best thing that ever happened to me and it deserves its own Thanksgiving. I'm a New Yorker and it has changed my life. I make friends there, get work done, blog, read and I'm not proud of this, but once I did fake nails on the B train.

Thanks for your “thanks” post! As you mentioned, many people wrote about this topic but I think that its definitely important to give a shout out. I am one of those “read but don't comment” people, but in the spirit of a new year approaching and change I thought I would reach out and express how much I've loved reading your thoughts.

Sydney, it makes your real mama's heart go all mushy to see comments like the ones above (and Mari's in particular). I am so thankful you survived high school and college and have become such an adult! It was worth the minivans, Explorers, Expeditions, bus trips and bleacher butt from cheerleading, and the white leather Keds. La Lou Baby!

Love this post. As predictable as a gratitude post is on Thanksgiving, it's necessary and you do it well.

Since I'm probably the only Chicago suburban mom in your circle of friends who wears Keds and drives a minivan (okay, scratch the last two), I'm gonna do one of those mom things and tell you that I'm so proud of you and all you've accomplished over the past several months. GO YOU.
