What do you want to see?

Nice to see you again. Follow me, @SydneyOwen. Thanks for being here!

So I started this gem as part of my Writing for PR class, that’s what got me here. Then, I went to PRSSA National Conference last year, met Penelope Trunk, realized the importance of blogging, blah, blah, blah, and that’s how sydneyowen.com came to be.

It’s been over a year since that started, and now it’s time for my review.

What do you like? What don’t you like? What am I doing well? What can I improve on?

I think I want to take this blog in a new direction. The “new media” shenanigans is tired, and I’m hardly writing about new media anymore. I have been writing about more gen-y stuff, career stuff, big city stuff, etc.

What do you want to see?

Let me have it. Anonymous if you want, preferably with your name so I can follow-up with you if I have questions.

Sound off!

  • A big fan
Whatever direction it takes I'd like to be able to continue to follow along as your career and life unfold.

Now, as a trusted source of information in an industry surely in transition if not reinvention, what you say makes sense.

    That's rare.

I'd encourage you to continue to promote yourself and your contemporaries as the ones who really "get it" AND the ones who have the ability to communicate that knowledge to the masses who are capable and hungry for direction and clarity.

At a time when business wants to believe it is struggling to come out of a cyclical downturn, you have the unique opportunity to go in a different, necessary direction, redefining how business is done for generations to come.

    This is your time.

    Right now.

You will not have this opportunity again.

If your generation is going to make an enduring impact, this is when it happens. Out there somewhere is another young Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, or Henry Ford.

The unique advantage your generation has is the ability to collaborate as no other generation has ever had via the Social mantra's you define right here every day.

    I'm just sayin...
  • I would love to hear more about your personal experience in moving: challenges, tips, thoughts, why others should do it (or not?) I think it's so interesting to hear how other people make the leap and it might also instill a personal connection with others who are scared to do so :)
