Ready or not, here I come.

Nice to see you again. Follow me, @SydneyOwen. Thanks for being here!

So I graduated, now what?

Now, I can go on with my life. I told myself I was holding off on dating until I finished my degree. Now I’m holding off on dating until I get a full-time job. Now, there’s no reason for me not to have a full-time job. I have the piece of paper that everyone requires I have, so what’s next?

The journey so far, without a degree, has been amazing. If in fact a degree was the only thing holding someone back from hiring me, I’ll be interested to see what the future holds.

I’m going into my 8th week at Weber, so I’m officially halfway through the program. The first half has been amazing, as I’ve learned a lot about myself and the industry and what agency life is like. I hope the next eight weeks prove to be as educational. It’s crazy to think that I wasn’t supposed to start at Weber until August 17th, originally. Then we moved my date up, I moved two months ahead of schedule and now I’m halfway through. I can’t imagine what life would be like if I was JUST NOW packing up to move, if I was JUST NOW getting in my car and making the drive, making the transition.

So now I’m armed and ready for the world. Degree in hand, some good experiences to back it up, and a hell of a lot of enthusiasm about taking the world head-on. I think it’s the enthusiasm and drive that is going to take me places – because there are a TON of people out there with degrees.

I have two questions: what’s next, and who’s coming with me?

Look out world. :)

  • Degrees are great, but you said it best - there are millions of people out there with degrees, your personal drive and motivation are what will set you above the rest. Congratulations and good luck moving forward.
