Networking is so crucial this day and age - the days of just shooting out resumes and hoping for a call back are over. You really have to get your 'hands dirty' so to speak with every company/organization you're interested in. My advice would be to remain proactive - approach people, don't wait to be approached. It's about constantly getting your name out there and establishing a name for yourself. By the way - we need to get networked on twitter - I'm following you but right now, the feeling is not mutual.
